Desire.......Dior

Impeccable cuts, innovative design, clandestine details....all very, very Dior.......thank you very much Mr. Gallliano for another incredible season.....2010's RTW, Resort and Couture collections are as breath-taking as our abated breath. Come join us as we peruse the most gorgeous collection of the season..

Ready-To-Wear
Versatile length choices from thigh to floor-skimming, all truly extravagant and luxuriously tailored to perfection. The waist is neatly cinched creating the classic womanly silhouette, while giving the rest of the female features their fair share of attention. The keen eye of John Galliano spares no expense with the fabric infused with sparkle and lace creating a flowing silky effect that is undoubtly elegant. I love the way his creations embrace the FUN attitude of today's modern lady, but keeps to the House Of Dior's noticeable attention to feminine contours and design. The RTW collection is eye-catching with bright floral (very Spring), metallic punches and side ties, leather leggings, lace shorts, 3D florettes and peaches-n-cream evening gowns.......we just can't get enough of Galliano!

The leather leggings are fabulous (I own a faux, yet very believable pair) and can be worn with everything! I pair mine with a fitted suit blazer in an inky black and a heavy gold chain and heels for a night out, but I have been toying with the idea of a simple black corset with a nice lace overlay, or fine beaded detail to wear with them as well.. also a huge fan of the purple florette mini dress. This would be gorgeous with some black matte tights in the colder months, but stunning with open-toed heels right now.... the hour-glass shape and royal purple flowers create a very striking contrast.

My favorite piece is the gold evening gown, second to last pic, it's so beautiful.......ethereal really. The shimmering champagne fabric imparts instant glamour. The silver bra-let type neckline and sheer mid-region leaves much to the imagination, and the sprinkle of gemstones is stunning.

COUTURE

Stunning....an elaborate display of lace, tulle, ivory, navy, eggplant and rose, amongst other fabulously luxe shades to create a truly lavish line of Couture pieces. As you can probably tell, I am obsessed with lace and the intricate needle-work creates detail that is both eye-catching and worthy of the vintage stamp so often attributed to lace. The dark, rich navy-teal dress with gold brocade innerlay is fabulous. I love the fabric fly-away detailing on the jackets, and the swathes of lacy and mesh on the dresses and hats. Purely exquisite.

How is it possible to create such a pristine palate of dresses that are just so.....interesting...very clever Galliano..very clever:) We sure do adore the House of Dior! Stay tuned a little later for the Resort Collection:)
xoxo
