Desire.......Dior

Impeccable cuts, innovative design, clandestine details....all very, very Dior.......thank you very much Mr. Gallliano for another incredible season.....2010's RTW, Resort and Couture collections are as breath-taking as our abated breath. Come join us as we peruse the most gorgeous collection of the season..

Ready-To-Wear
Versatile length choices from thigh to floor-skimming, all truly extravagant and luxuriously tailored to perfection. The waist is neatly cinched creating the classic womanly silhouette, while giving the rest of the female features their fair share of attention. The keen eye of John Galliano spares no expense with the fabric infused with sparkle and lace creating a flowing silky effect that is undoubtly elegant. I love the way his creations embrace the FUN attitude of today's modern lady, but keeps to the House Of Dior's noticeable attention to feminine contours and design. The RTW collection is eye-catching with bright floral (very Spring), metallic punches and side ties, leather leggings, lace shorts, 3D florettes and peaches-n-cream evening gowns.......we just can't get enough of Galliano!

The leather leggings are fabulous (I own a faux, yet very believable pair) and can be worn with everything! I pair mine with a fitted suit blazer in an inky black and a heavy gold chain and heels for a night out, but I have been toying with the idea of a simple black corset with a nice lace overlay, or fine beaded detail to wear with them as well.. also a huge fan of the purple florette mini dress. This would be gorgeous with some black matte tights in the colder months, but stunning with open-toed heels right now.... the hour-glass shape and royal purple flowers create a very striking contrast.

My favorite piece is the gold evening gown, second to last pic, it's so beautiful.......ethereal really. The shimmering champagne fabric imparts instant glamour. The silver bra-let type neckline and sheer mid-region leaves much to the imagination, and the sprinkle of gemstones is stunning.

COUTURE

Stunning....an elaborate display of lace, tulle, ivory, navy, eggplant and rose, amongst other fabulously luxe shades to create a truly lavish line of Couture pieces. As you can probably tell, I am obsessed with lace and the intricate needle-work creates detail that is both eye-catching and worthy of the vintage stamp so often attributed to lace. The dark, rich navy-teal dress with gold brocade innerlay is fabulous. I love the fabric fly-away detailing on the jackets, and the swathes of lacy and mesh on the dresses and hats. Purely exquisite.

How is it possible to create such a pristine palate of dresses that are just so.....interesting...very clever Galliano..very clever:) We sure do adore the House of Dior! Stay tuned a little later for the Resort Collection:)

Cirque Du Soleil.."A Baroque Ode To The Energy, Grace And Power Of Youth"

http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/

Cirque Du Soleil...Circus of the Sun....Embraces Fantasy and Light

"From a group of 20 street performers at its beginnings in 1984, Cirque du Soleil is now a major Quebec-based organization providing high-quality artistic entertainment. The company has more than 4,000 employees from over 40 different countries, including 1,000 artists. Cirque du Soleil has brought wonder and delight to almost 90 million spectators in over 200 cities on five continents. In 2009, Cirque du Soleil will present 20 shows simultaneously throughout the world. The company has received such prestigious awards as the Emmy, Drama Desk, Bambi, ACE, Gémeaux, Félix, and Rose d’Or de Montreux. Cirque du Soleil International Headquarters are in Montreal, Canada."

Cirque du Soleil’s mission is to invoke the imagination, provoke the senses and evoke the emotions of people around the world.

Stay tuned for more on this gorgeously phenomenal show...

Alegria is a personal favorite..and I haven't even seen it live yet! It's definitely a life goal....it's breathtaking....The official description says "Alegría is a mood, a state of mind. The themes of the show, whose name means "jubilation" in Spanish, are many. Power and the handing down of power over time, the evolution from ancient monarchies to modern democracies, old age, youth—it is against this backdrop that the characters of Alegría play out their lives. Kings' fools, minstrels, beggars, old aristocrats and children make up its universe, along with the clowns, who alone are able to resist the passing of time and the social transformations that accompany it."
Dare to join countless others who have witnessed this beautiful jaunt through imagination..

Valentino Silk-Crepe Rosette Bodice Gown in Papaya
c/o net-a-porter
(100% silk, 100% stunning.....of course...are you really surprised? It's Valentino after all....)

Knit Bow Headband c/o Forever 21
(Labeled as "fuschia," this is definitely more of a punchy pink papaya! Keep fly-aways at bay with this preppy beachy accessory. $3.80 makes this a summer must-have)

Polished Slub Maryn Jacket and Skirt combo c/o J. Crew

(Perfection is embedded in the impeccable tailoring and nubby fabric of this divinely-crafted suit set. Leave the jacket open and dress up denim with a matching silk shortie scarf. Add gold, bone, ivory or even deep navy or turquoise jewelry to offset the soft color. Pair the skirt with a short-sleeve fitted button-up to make it office-worthy.  Create a high-waist with a cinched skinny belt in a bright buttercup yellow and a slouchy tucked-in tank, gold linen sandals, flashy gold earrings and a fab clutch for a night out....)

Chiffon Flower Pin/Hair Clip c/o J. Crew

(Loop an elastic band through the pin and fasten it closed. You have now created a pony-tail holder to wrap around a sleek chignon or wrap a couple of these around your wrist  à la Carrie Bradshaw for a look that is positively blooming! Add a punch of color to that scarf you love so dear to keep your look fresh. Or attach to a basic belt in any color! Try braiding different colors of grosgrain ribbon together and making your own belt using this as the belt buckle!)

Boho Wild Watermelon Dress c/o America Eagle Outfitters

(Free-spirited eyelet hem and racer-back summer dress show off that bronzed skin! Perfect with flops, a bikini or a cardi....love AE for the flexibility and fluidity of their clothing..so easy to mix and match! Can't beat $30!)

(I scored these fabulous shoes! Under $40! Check out the detailing! Cute ruffled uppers, reminescent of a loafer...but way more feminine! Wear them with everything!)

Sweet Sunday Dress c/o Fred Flare
(Buttercup yellow AND eyelets? A Raspberry Confection? Perfect conservative square neck and thick straps, crisp flair skirt and cinched waist...what more could you want?)

Roxy Pixie Eyelet Shoe c/o buckle.com
(Adorably functional flats for everyday. Girly flourishes like raw-edged rows of ruffles make these an easy addition to cropped denim and a rockin' tank. Would be fab with a shortie skirt or shorts.)

Tube-top Eyelet Romper c/o Arden B
(This is 100% adorable and a convenient go-to for just about any occasion in the warm months coming up! Strap on wedge espadrilles, a bright bag, don't forget colorful chunky jewelry (think thick wooden bracelets embossed with hammered gold, or tribal beaded multi-strand necklaces looped to a choker length). Love the attached belt and for a change of pace, sub in your own! Would be great with a denim jacket and flats or with flipflops and a wide brim straw hat.)

BCBGeneration One-Shoulder Pleat Eyelet Dress c/o zappos.com
(Eyelet detail is fabulous in this Grecian-inspired mini dress. Pleats create a flattering silhouette.)

Mark Fast Knitted Skirt with Suede Ruffles c/o brownsfashions.com
(A total Luxurious Lust, this skirt to die for. Suede and leather circular shapes strategically folded to create ruffles in the most gorgeous shade of periwinkle. Gold metal eyelets are the finishing touch on this stellar find. It might break your bank just a tad, but for good reason...$1520.  At your next soiree just let the skirt do all the talking!)

Shoshanna Eyelet Cover-up c/o bluefly.com
(Bright fuschia and a deep round neck add to this flirty little number which is perfect over a bright white bikini and woven wedges)

Kimchi Blue Eyelet Scoop Back Waist Tunic c/o Urban Outfitters
(LOVE this! Perfect in EVERY way! Deep V sexy, but v. classy back with bow detailing. The front has a flat front conservative neckline that offsets the flirty back. Sophisticated and contrasting with creamy eyelets sprinkled over the entire top...the cut is ultra-flattering, too!)

Scalloped Eyelet Skirt c/o Forever 21
(Love the softness factor of the too-much-cream-in-your-latte color. Brushed Suede-esque fabric with impeccable detailing and an insane price factor...$22.80! )

Antonio Melani Sonja Dress c/o Dillards
(This gorgeously created little black dress is your go-to for any affair where high-class is a prerequisite! Luxe. A sweet song to your ears and easy as anything on the eyes. From the Nantucket Sound Collection. )
